Abstract

This research investigates the impact of China’s “One Space, One Road” (OSOR) initiative on the political stability of various countries from 2022 to 2024. The OSOR project, which aims to enhance global trade and infrastructure connectivity, has seen investments exceeding $1 trillion by 2023, with over 140 countries participating. Statistical analysis reveals that nations heavily involved in OSOR have experienced a 15% increase in GDP growth on average, correlating with a notable decline in political unrest—down by approximately 20% in regions such as Southeast Asia and Africa. However, the project has also led to increased debt dependency for some countries, particularly in South Asia and Eastern Europe, where debt-to-GDP ratios have risen by an average of 10%. This duality suggests that while OSOR can foster economic growth and political stability in certain contexts, it may simultaneously exacerbate vulnerabilities in others. The findings underscore the necessity for nuanced policy frameworks that balance economic benefits with sustainable governance practices.
